Your next job?

For most of us homeless folks this is the main reason for our situation.  We get fired, laid off, hours cut, business closes, you name it.  Life happens to the best of us and changes on a dime.  If any of these situations has happened to you and you don't have family support, for whatever reason, you find yourself very much on your own.  I get it, I've been there.  There really is only one tangible way out of homelessness, and that is to get out of jobless-ness.  This page is dedicated to providing resources around Springdale, AR for getting back in the job market and hopefully back into a job.  Again, I will give a few specific resources, but there are really just so many, so any help from you or even people you know would be great on this page.

    1. Dison has a good point. However, I must say if you're not the tie wearing type and you want a good paying job quick, stop by George's hiring center and leave your tie at home! I don't know the physical address but it's up there by the wal-mart super center. It's right across the street from a drug store. They hire pretty quickly, are normally pretty desperate, you get a free pass on the ORT, and they pay every Friday (no direct deposit for non-management though).
Is it hard work, yes, sometimes. Is it disgusting work, yes, but you will be wearing a lot of protective gear. Is it uncomfortable, loud, smelly and crowded? Yes, yes, yes, and yes. Truly, this job might not be for you, but it does pay well and the hiring is pretty quick. One bit of advice, they drug test upon hiring and then at random after that. I was there a week when I got my first random drug test. Hope this helps. Let me know!

  4. *Tyson Foods Inc. Pretty much everything is done via the web, which is good and bad. It means that sometimes you wait up to a month before they even get to your application. I know the hiring center is in Lowell, AR just not sure of the address. If I find it or someone knows, just post it as a reply. Until then here is the website: http://www.tysonfoodscareers.com/

  5. *Cargill. Another poultry processing company that does their hiring on-line. Web: http://www.cargill.com/careers/. They do have a "Contact us" site, http://www.cargill.com/careers/. Here you can at least ask them questions if needed. I do know they have hiring events often. It's always a good idea to put your face out there when seeking a job. It shows initiative...always a good thing. I'll post a reply if I come across any Cargill job fairs/events.
